Slow and Steady Beginning to Podcast Launch
Last week, I launched the Beta version of the MyKitaab podcast. Over an eight day period, more than a dozen people signed up as beta listeners. I sent links to four audio files, each between 10 and 15 minutes.
The statistics might not make much sense, considering that we are talking about less than 100 listens over an eight day period, however, what is interesting is that many of the files were shared by the reviewers with their friends. And many of the listeners had a kind word or two to offer.
With two more weeks for the podcast to be launched, I thought of introducing the guests whose ‘mini interviews’ have been uploaded on soundcloud as a part of the beta program .
1. Vikrant Pande: Vikrant’s interview has been the most listened to podcast — with over 52 listens so far. Vikrant is an alumnus of IIM Bangalore and after a 20 plus year career in the corporate world, he is now the Vice Chancellor of a University in Vadodara. He is an author who translates Marathi classic novels into English, most recently, Bajirao Mastani- the English translation of the novel Rau on which the Sanjay Leela Bhansali movie has been released.
2. Ricardo Fayet: Ricardo is the co-founder of Reedsy, an online marketplace for authors, editors, cover designers and book marketers. Ricardo and I discuss his entrepreneurial journey, how Reedsy has evolved, and Ricardo’s plans for the future.
3. Rachna Singh: A humor writer with three bestselling novels under her belt, a breast cancer survivor, and a fantastic conversationalist. What more should I say?
